Section 13
Functions, Duties and Powers of the Commission Functions, Duties and Powers of the Commission

(1) The work, duties and powers of the Commission shall be as follows:-
(a) Investigating, investigating and documenting serious violations of human rights and bringing real facts to the public,
(B) Convince the victim and the perpetrator,
(c) To initiate reconciliation between the perpetrator and the victim and bring about reconciliation,
(d) To make recommendations regarding the compensation to be provided to the victim or his family members,
(e) Recommending action against perpetrators who have not been reconciled and pardoned,
(f) To provide the victim with the prescribed identity card and post-investigation information,
(G) Doing other work mentioned in this Act.
(2) Regardless of what is written in the current law, the commission will investigate the cases pending in various courts and agencies in consultation with the relevant courts and agencies regarding the incidents that happened during the armed conflict.
(3) Regardless of what is written in the existing law, the commission will investigate the complaints pending in various agencies regarding the incidents that happened during the armed conflict.
(4) If there is a dispute as to whether an incident took place during an armed conflict or not, the commission will decide it.
(5) In relation to persons who have disappeared according to this Act, the Investigation Commission of Disappeared Persons and other incidents related to serious violations of human rights shall be investigated by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
(6) The Commission may investigate cases of serious violations of human rights on the following basis:-
(a) If the victim or anyone on his behalf files a complaint before the Commission,
(b) If the Commission receives information from any source,
(c) If the Commission deems it appropriate to investigate.
(7) The Commission may make separate arrangements as prescribed to facilitate children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and persons subjected to sexual violence in making complaints to the Commission.
(8) Other provisions related to the procedure for filing a complaint before the Commission shall be as prescribed.
